  2. How to benchmark your own business when buying an industry Profile?

    Aftter completing the industry profile purchase you will be sent out a number of emails containing:

    - Industry Profile PDF
    - Invoice
    - Username and Password

    The username and password can be used to launch the BBS application

    Once you have succesfully accessed the BBS application you will be able to enter your financial information, select benchmarks to compare your business against, make adjustments within the budget section and print out a report. The following instructions show you how:

     Benchmark a Business is accessed from the BBS Dashboard

     

    Identify Industry Benchmarks

    Use this search to allocate a source industry for the business you are going to benchmark, this source industry will be used to generate the "all firms' average".  The source industry is the exact industry match for your business.  If a direct match is not available, select the next most appropriate industry.

    When searching, there will be two options available:

    • Keyword Search - Using an industry-related keyword or business name; or
    • Advanced Search - Three tiered search function.

    Businesses are often grouped by the industry to which they belong, for example, Financial Services, Industrials and Transportation.  There are three steps to drill down to the industry name:

          1. Wider industry group name.
          2. Sector Name.
          3. Industry Name.
