  2. How do I activate the Budget, Financial Ratio and Sustainable Growth Ratio screens?

    Validating

The validation feature in the BBS assists the user in checking the information they have completed in the data entry section, running standardised checks on rent, superannuation and total income etc.

    Locking

The lock feature has two functions: 1) it provides the user with the option to submit a review request to the support team at Benchmarking.com.au, and 2) allows for the following features to be activated:

    - Budget Screen
    - Financial Ratio Screen
    - Sustainable Growth Rate Screen
    - Full report printing

Verifying and locking the data will assist in ensuring the questionnaire has been correctly completed. Questionable or blank fields will be highlighted and will require you to investigate/or override the query. In order to activate the advanced features of the BBS the Validation and Locking process must be completed.

    1. Press the validation disk to start the process.

You will notice a toolbar slides out from the right hand side of your screen, which contains validation messages about the data you have entered. For each of the validations, you can click the ‘investigate' link to review the item in question. Once you are happy with your data entry click "override this" to complete. Repeat the process for each validation until the toolbar slides back into the side of the screen.

    2. Once the validation is completed you will need to lock your dataset by clicking the padlock

You will now see a text box asking if you would like Benchmarking.com.au to conduct a free review of your data. Untick the box if you would not like your data reviewed and press "submit" to lock your data.

You will now notice that the budget, financial ratio and sustainable growth ratio tabs are activated. This also allows for a full report to be printed (if the file isn't locked only a short version of the report will print).

    Before:

    After:

Data Review: Benchmarking.com.au aims to review each dataset prior to close of business the following working day. An email will be sent to the user email advising of the results of the review. The dataset will also be unlocked so that changes can be made by the user if required.

  7. When I create a new client record on the dashboard, no matter what I type into the source industry box, the message "An error has ovvured - we could not find a matching benchmark" appears.

This is because you entered a search term that is too specific. Start of broad, i.e. if you are looking for a PLUMBER, just search for PLU. In this example, the search for PLUMBER will return no industry, because the data you are looking for is stored under PLUMBING. Searching for PLU will return your desired result.

Alternatively, try to use the Group / Sector / Industry selector on the right hand side, which displays the available options.
